A long while ago we took some photos of Daft Punk, back in 2007 for their Alive Tour to be exact and of DJ Falcon at a separate club gig. Less “awhile ago” the folks over at St. Martin’s Press decided to compile a comprehensive biography of all things Daft Punk related and include said photos. The book has since gone to print and it looks great! If you’re a fan of the helmeted wonders (and pyramids), do yourself a favour and get your grubby mitts on to it.
Here are some of the highlights from the original gig, pre WordPress days!
This week we take a break from The Guide cover photos while the rest of The Music magazine team are out getting loaded at Big Sound, but not a break from shooting 😉 We caught local post hardcore lads The Amity Affliction with their special brand of yelling and singing with shoulder to shoulder stage security (thanks to an overzealous crowd at a previous concert) at the Riverstage.

Xzibit @ Chalk Hotel 26/4/14
Mr. X to the Z brought his versus Hip Hop show to the Chalk Hotel carpark for the first installlment of their Soundcheck series of hip hop events to be held over the next few months. Even with sound restrictions, X stomped through with his west coast flavour and unmistakeable pizazz and charm.

Twin Haus bring their duplex tax break like a baus for The Music Magazine’s (Brisbane) – “The Guide” section cover shoot this week.
We also do a bit of running around and catch both Salmonella Dub at the Hifi and Xzibit at Chalk hotel, a couple highlight shots from those below and more to come.

Public Enemy @ Hifi Bar Brisbane
That young, stupidly rich swedish dude that some times plays music made his way around the country starting at the Brisbane Riverstage last week. Hat was reversed, a hand was held up and waved, “OOSSHH” faces were made and beat drops were plentiful for the adoration of the sold out crowd of tweens and brusses. In the words of support act New World Sound, “BRIZZAAYYY!! Gah-in’ off!!”.

We also caught soul songstress Jill Scott doing her thing at the Tivoli. The chairs at what was supposed to be a subdued seated affair became as redundant as at a southern gospel church sermon! See below for more photos from the gig.
