We’ve known for awhile that Brisbane is packed full of awesomeness, you just have to know where to look. So we at soulbridgemedia rounded up a couple of our good friends and thought we’d help the uninitiated out by hosting a cultural festival encompassing.. well, cool shit!

Expect to see and hear goodies from up and coming and established music, dance performances, art and fashion designers. It will be a day full of live music, DJ’s, dancers, fashion shows and market stalls selling anything from sneakers and collectible toys to clothing and art work and there will even be sample bags!

Best of all, you too can be part of it. We’re on the look out for businesses, promoters, DJ’s, artists, designers or even private sellers wishing to be part of or even help sponsor the event. Even if you just want to get your flyers/business promo/demo material out to the greater community, we can help!

Andele! Andele!

Its that time of year again, when Brisbane’s entertainment precinct explodes in a mass of colour, people and sound. Held over 2 days and 2 nights starting on the Friday, the Valley Fiesta hosts a slew of local and national musicians and performances. This year the crown is topped by Born Renegades hiphop showcase including The Optimen, Eloquence and Truths, Pure Product, Seven, Vegas Aces and Prophet Rayza.

Best of all, its free!

Easily the best news of the year! 😉
We here at SBM don’t mind a pint or 5 to wet our whistle, especially of the Malus pumila Miller cider variety.

However after returning from a Scandinavian holiday a few years back, which I spent many a night smoldering delightfully on an ice cold glass of pear cider (Perry), I sadly found it is pretty much none existent here, bar the expensive tall bottled champagne like stuff from specialists.

Needless to say we were ecstatic when we heard (thanks to Ruthykins) that Magners will be releasing their pear cider on the domestic market this Summer!

We are still waiting on confirmation of distributors but our guess will be Dan Murphys and 1st Choice to stock it first, slotting it into their quite reasonable range of locals and imports.

Now if only we can get the Irish pubs to get it on tap 😉

You can relive the times when DnB Djs played DnB and dubstep Djs played DnB and no one had to play dubstep ;p or when the cider crew would battle the beer crew in a drink off till you couldn’t remember if you were drinking beer or cider or when those Rudebwirds would get up to mischief in the pool room 😉 Either way, a good night and good music is guaranteed!

For those thinking wtf is he on about, check the press release, ya ‘ear me now!

For the uninitiated, ‘RuDe BwOyZ’ was one of the most seminal events on the Brisbane clubbing calendar, renowned for launching the Brisbane drum’n’bass scene out of obscurity and establishing itself as the longest running Independent dance-event in Brisbane history! At the birthplace of the underground bar, RuDe BwOyZ provided local junglists with the city’s first monthly drum’n’bass event and paved the foundation for the vibrant scene Brisbane enjoys today. In late 2008,
after 6 solid years of drum’n’bass and jungle vibe mayhem, the team decided to hang up the headphones….. but you cant keep a good RuDeBwOy down!!!
To celebrate the memory of one of Brisbane’s most loved club events, the RuDe BwOyZ team are taking their infamous FREE PARTY into the bigger space downstairs @The Step Inn, where we hope Brisbane junglists young and old can unite to party on into the early morn with a selection of
classic Brisbane jungle and dub-step dj’s who’ve been reppin’ with RuDe BwOyZ from the word go!
Back 2 back bad-bwoy bizness with:

Operon vs De la Haye (rude bwoy & junglette action, ooo-errr!)
Erther vs Sektile (deep jungle pressure)
Mongo & Phibre (rude bwoyz originals)
Justus vs Kosha D (big party flayvaz)
Citadel (citizen & delstar b2b dub-step damage)
Speaker Wrath (slammin’ up the last hour)

Expect the usual top sound, lighting, music and that extra special RuDeBwOyZ vibe!
FREE ENTRY! & casual dress code 🙂
Doors open at 9pm and will vibrate until dawn!!
(don’t forget its downstairs!!)

The Re-Edit Master and 2009 Breakspoll Best Breakthrough DJ nominee, ADSORB, makes his Australian debut at Breaks & Enter! He’s Krafty Kut’s production and touring partner and has releases on Against the Grain and Fingerlickin so you can expect a lot of dancefloor friendly business!

To help you get down and get busy we’ve got a double pass to give away thanks to Chris from the Adicts Crew! Simply become a fan on Facebook, find the update and it could be you!

Brisbane breaks pioneers and live show extravanganza are back after a long hiatus from the Moonbar!

For the uninitiated we can tell you now it will be nothing but fun and good times and an unmistakable ‘Slingers house party vibe.

Due to liquor licencing laws, we can’t tell you about the drink specials on through out the night  *cough*

See you on the dancefloor! 😀
