The boys scared up a storm for a Halloween special in the newly refurbed Cornerbar. The pokies are gone (again) and there’s plenty of space for a dance floor area but that filled fast as everyone piled in. Great sets from all on the night, with a definite harder sound than previous TnC gigs but very suited for the night of All Hallows eve!

ss2009lineup HOUSE, in every variation and incarnation of the genre, you can be sure its covered. Theres even some live bands in there for good measure (:

fireworks How many times do you hear it months in advance all the way up till literally 11:59pm Dec. 31st ?
Well its time you stop wishing on that delusion where some how ALL of your friends are going to be at the same place and EVERYone will enjoy themselves and to make your own plans! Luckily the lads at Adicts and Ten Pound are here to help by taking the “Holiday break” literally!

Two big line ups in two brand spankin new locations. Nothing like a bit of lateral thinking to take advantage of Queensland’s 9 months of summer 😀

First up is the Blah Blah Blah Festival. Ambiguous on the name but not on the intention, as it’s nothing but breaks as far as the eye can see. With a colossal lineup of just about every breaks act/dj that has played in Brisbane over the last couple years you’ll be brushing your teeth with Hardstyle to get the taste out!

The lineup so far:

Yo Majesty (Shunda K) (USA)
Rennie Pilgrem + MC Chickaboo (UK)
Elite Force (UK)
Lady Waks (Russia)
Miles Dyson (Germany)
Skool of Thought (UK)
Kazu Kamira (Spain)
Rob Reng (UK)
The Aston Shuffle (Canb)
Jamie Stevens (Infusion) (Syd)
DJ Bonez (Melb)
Hermitude (Canb) (Live)
Bitrok
The Loops of Fury (Formerly Hyperion)
Coalition Crew (Live)
The Grand Audio Family (Live)
Vinyl Slingers
The Kelly Gang (Live)
Laneous & The Family Yah (Live)
The Golden Sound (Live)
The Rooftops (Live)

Set on the base of the Kangaroo Point cliffs this looks to be the perfect way to burn off that Xmas roast… or add to it with a few bevvys in the sun 😉

Tickets on sale now.

After that, you get a whole 4 days (remember Monday 28th is a holiday 😉 ) of rest (or just kick on!) before you go at it again with BBQ Beats! These guys never disappoint and after evolving from the confines of the riverside centre this year, they’ve further spread their wings and moved it to a very lush and exclusive location at Victoria Park golf course. Thinking of cracking a few at the driving range before hand? Me too. Jolly good! 😀

They too have dipped into their caddy to pull some of their fave acts and djs from the previous years and compiled another well rounded lineup up of a great selection of genres. From the buttery soul of Amp Fiddler to the funk and hiphop grooves of The Nextmen and Roots Manuva to the anthemic Pendulum there’s enough there to make you tingly in your plaids.

First round announcement goes a bit like this:

PENDULUM
BLOC PARTY (DJ SET)
ROOTS MANUVA
AMP FIDDLER
CLAUDE VON STROKE
MALENTE
D.RAMIREZ
THE NEXTMEN AND MC WREC
JOKER
THUNDERHEIST
AUTOEROTIQUE

With more to be announced. Tickets on sale 5 November.

Flavor Flav Relive the fun of this year’s BBQ Beats with those protagonists, Public Enemy!

Rock out!As the festival season rolls in, so do the line up announcements. We’re surprised Soundwave (Brisbane) didn’t sell out after Big Day Out sold out in record time, but now after the second line up announcement, a sold out show is imminent with the announcement of Heavy metallers, Anthrax, whiney heart felt stale warts, Placebo and teen movie soundtrackers, Motion City Soundtrack.

Along with Shinedown, Set your goals, Enter Shikari and Closure in Moscow.

They join an already BDO trumping lineup of:

Faith No More
My Chemical Romance
Janes Addiction
Afi
Paramore
HIM
Alexisonfire
Taking Back Sunday
Trivium
Sunny Day Real Estate
Eagles Of Death Metal
The Get Up Kids
Anti Flag
Reel Big Fish
Meshuggah
All Time Low
A Day To Remember
It Dies Today
Escape The Fate
Clutch
Isis
Gallows
A Wilhelm Scream
The Weakerthans
Emarosa
Anvil
The Devil Wears Prada
Comeback Kid
The Almost
Dance Gavin Dance
Four Year Strong
You Me At Six
Whitechapel
The Aquabats
Rolo Tomassi
Baroness
Rx Bandits
Maximum The Hormone
The Creepshow

Good Vibrations (on the same day) really has to pull a seriously bigrabbit out of its hat to draw the multi-genrelists away from that one. Speaking of which, GV lineup will be announced soon! 😀

With N.E.R.D. , Basement Jaxx and Grandmaster Flash on the bill last year, its been on bated breath that we waited to see if it could be topped…

and I’d have to say they’ve done it with those rave originators, The Prodigy!  If you saw their show last year at the riverstage you know what to expect, plenty of classics, insane visual production and the lads going absolute bonkers.

The rest of the line up is looking pretty sharp as well with a choice selection of trance, house and live acts.

The Prodigy
Empire Of The Sun
Franz Ferdinand
Booka Shade
John Digweed
Sven Vath
David Guetta
Erick Morillo
Above & Beyond
Dubfire
Boys Noize
Does It Offend You, Yeah?

Better get buying, this event will surely sell out!
