The now misleadingly titled Laneway Festival rolls back through town as a full fledge festival rather than a little shindig in a lane with its extended line up of EDM and hiphop headliners all mixing well and appreciated by the indie rock types. Last minute time and stage changes aside, the weather held out for a great day of floral shirts in the sun.
Check out the extended highlights below!
Couldn’t wait for the summer of the Warped Tour to fall in love with the girl from the rock show? We couldn’t either! Thankfully after a 10+ year hiatus its back gracing our shores with a tasty line up of pop punk and metal and some skatey types. With only 3 stages and longer sets it was a nice change from catching only 10-15min of your fave act then spending the rest of the time running between stages or queuing for toilets and drinks! Even better that the weather held off.
Check out the bumper gallery below for all the good time fun!

The lovely Nat Dunn is in this week for The Music Magazine’s (Brisbane) – “The Guide” section cover shoot. We also head out for a day in the mountains to one of the best boutique festivals Queensland has to offer, the Red Deer Festival. It offers BYO booze, free onsite camping and you can even bring your whole lounge suite in to plonk on the hill and watch the show! The versatile local line up included The Grates, Kingswood, Chance Waters, The Kite String Tangle and Bec Laughton. See the highlight photos below.

New “festival” on the block(s) and classic Simpsons quote “The Blurst of Times” Festival headed up a host of local bands from Violent Soho and Velociraptor to Gung Ho and Bitch Prefect. Spread across three venues, Coniston Lane, Alhambra and Black Bear Lodge, it was kind of like a festival, a bit of running around but minus the long queues and battling the elements.
Our full gallery is available over at The Good Guide – Blurst of Times Festival.
Pro skater ( 😉 ) Thelma Plum is in for our Time Off Magazine Live cover shoot this week.
We also took on the full brunt of the angry weather gods during the annual Future Music Festival monsoon!

Well if there was ever a time to call an “Australia Day 2” on a music festival this would be it! Its no real secret that FMF is plagued with some of the worse weather Queensland can dish out each year but the music gods severely lost out this year with constant rain all day and atrocious ground conditions – to the point one of the main stages was closed early in the day, but apart from that it was non stop music and pyrotechnics!
