It was more than just a little bit of running around freaking out at every red light and delayed start but it was worth it to catch some of Brisbane’s best indie bands at the annual Mountain Goat Valley Crawl!

I know we say this everytime but hot damn did the Candee Flip team nail it again! The dancefloor was packed from the get go right up till the cake cutting at the end. Yes thats right, there was cake! The man of the hour being DJ Thief celebrating his half century milestone!

There’s very few bands that can stand the test of time, let alone for decades… let alone in dance music… let alone live dance music but I’ll be damned if The Prodigy doesn’t continue to deliver! Last time we caught them at Future Music festival in less than ideal conditions (ok it was horrible wading through shin deep swampy mud!) so it was a treat to stay (mostly) dry this time.

Parcels…err delivering @_@ the electropop disco goodies at The Triffid last week!
Well the Good Things Festival certainly lived up to their name bringing back the essence of what made previous institutions like Big Day Out and Soundwave great. Nice variety of bands across multiple genres, minimal clashes and room to move! Stand our performance of the day would have had to of been Babymetal who managed to get two stage full of punters bouncing to songs about chocolate! In one word, they, like the rest of the day was simply FUN! Fingers crossed we get to see them bring it back in 2019! 😀

Lit, turnt, hook, chain, all the things! We’re still looking for the words to describe the night but one thing’s for sure, the guys and gals at G-Shock sure know how to throw a party! 😀
Sneaker Freaker’s sophomore collaborative effort, the top to toe, mandible to abdomen make over the DW5700 aka the “Redback” was this year’s reason to celebrate and the rather appropriate event date of Oct. 31st led to impractical clubbing costumes and overly risque ensembles amongst the streaming beer and cider and steady flow of hors d’oeuvres (seriously the sliders and ribs were amazing! I’ve also never seen so many people fight over cauliflower before haha)
G’s on the field – it was quite the G-spotters paradise! Limited editions like the Burton Rangeman to the current GWFD1000 Frog, higher end faves – the MTGS1000 and MRGG1000 and even a rare in the wild DW8195 Gundam were nestled amongst the summery colours of the DW5600CMA and the GA400CM rasta twins, 5600/6900’s from the Redout 35th anniversary series and a generous helping of G staples.
Special thanks to the hard working teams behind G-Shock Australia, Sneaker Freaker and the great staff at the Belleville Melb. For putting together another awesome event – makes the tiring, delayed flights with budget carriers worthwhile!
